Barb Grothe (pronounced GROW-thee) is an independent communications technology consultant serving businesses and organizations nationwide for over 35 years. Barb's passion is helping clients like you maximize your return on communications investment while always staying ahead of the curve.
To accomplish this, Barb applies her own knowledge and taps her extensive network of industry experts for specific tasks and challenges. You save money while gaining access to the expertise you need.
As an active Certified Telecom Professional (CTP), Barb helps develop and implement modern, cost-effective communication solutions that meet her clients' business goals and objectives.
She was recognized as Telecom Professional of the Year by the State of Indiana, and named Distinguished Fellow of the Year by the Center for Information and Communications Sciences (CICS) at Ball State University.

NOTABLE PROJECTS & SUCCESSES
Project Managed the implementation of moving more than 4,000 users away from Cisco and Avaya PBX’s over to Microsoft Teams. Conducted an audit of voice and data monthly carrier billings saving over $600,000 per year.
Directed the installation of a 100Mg SIP Trunk to convert 700 remote retail offices with MPLS circuits back to HDQ. Ported the main numbers over to SIP and removed the POTS lines for an annual savings of $2.2 million per year.
Performed communications audit and expense management for a large manufacturer with a global communications system covering over 140 countries, serviced by 45 telephone carriers.
Performed a Voice and Data optimization for a large Steel Company in Chicago, savings upwards of $750,000 per year.
Planned and organized the implementation of Interactive Intelligence, Inc. CIC 4.0, SIP Proxy, VoIP gateways, and Session Border Controllers. The CIC had to interface with Microsoft, Nortel CS1000, and Active Directory through the E-SBC Audio Codes.
Directed the installation of Interactive Intelligence, Inc. CIC 3.0 for a large governmental agency. Interviewed the users and supervisors of several departments to determine needs and roles. Wrote up the call flow diagrams in Visio by Department, including creation of several types of stations and assigned permissions to those stations. Functioned as liaison between client and Interactive Intelligence, Inc. partner.
